Occupational First Aid Level 1 (OFA1)

This course meets the CSA standards for Intermediate First Aid.

This course meets Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) and Workplace First Aid (WFA) standard.

This blended 8-hour certification course provides the first aid training needed to qualify participants as an Emergency First Aid for Industry (OFA 1) attendant. The Triumph Safety Training Emergency First Aid for Industry blended course is recognized by WorkSafeBC as equivalent to WorkSafeBC Occupational First Aid Level 1 (OFA-1). On successful completion of training, participants receive a National Emergency First Aid for Industry certificate. When transferring to another province, the Emergency First Aid for Industry certificate is recognized as meeting the requirements for Emergency First Aid. This course meets first aid requirements for: WorkSafeBC – Occupational First Aid (OFA) Level 1, Canada Labor Code Basic First Aid, and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety (Emergency First Aid). This blended course is comprised of two sections: An online self-study section and an in-classroom practical section. The online section will take around 4 hours. When completed you can attend the in-classroom section. You must attend the 4 hour in-class section within 30 days of completing the online section.

The Standard First Aid for Industry course is for anyone wishing to work as a Level 1 first aid attendant in BC, anyone wishing to work as an emergency first-aider in Alberta, police, first responders, lifeguards, ski patrollers and caring citizens.

This course meets the requirements for:

  • Canada Labour Code (Standard First Aid)
  • WorkSafeBC OFA Level 1
  • Alberta Human Services OH&S Policy (Standard First Aid)

Prerequisites

Must be 16 years or older. For the online section, this course will require the use of a computer and will not work on mobile devices such as phones or tablets. The online section will take around 4 hours. When completed you can attend the in-classroom section. You must attend the 4 hour in-class section within 30 days of completing the online section. For the in-class section, you must present a valid government issued photo ID and be physically able to perform the required skills.
